In recent years, we have seen an explosion of tools and technology used in the HR Industry. Hundreds of start-ups are focusing on different aspects of the Talent Life Cycle and all creating out new solutions. Organisations worldwide have, at last, embraced this change that is raging through the HR Industry and are automating their processes and procedures rapidly. Unfortunately, all too often without understanding the real needs or asking the right questions, and often rushing in head over heels.

The Talent Shortage

At the same time we are experiencing a global talent shortage. Temp agencies are struggling with their conversion rates, recruitment companies can’t find the right people (fast enough or at all) and millennials don’t speak the same language as their corporate employers. Organisations are struggling to hold on to their talents and disrupted industries are having too many highly, yet wrongly trained people.

Those challenges and their impact may vary on a regional level, but in overall this is globally the same challenge.

Standard answers or the next version of faster and better won’t suffice anymore, Career Owners and Organisations need to find a new balance.

Introducing: Workforce Optimisation

It is time to take the next step and move from automating HR Processes & Procedures to HR Solutions that will lead to what we call, Workforce Optimisation.

Over the next years we will see an evolution towards the optimisation of interaction between three stakeholders: the HR Technology providers, the  “new” role of the HR Professional and the interaction of the Career Owner.

In our view, the current HR Tools offer little or no interaction or sharing possibility for the Employee/Career owner and therefore won’t make it to be tomorrow’s solution.

Introduction programs, offered trainings and personal development plans are being created taking into account the individual expectations of the Career Owner and the needs of the organisations.

These new insights will have to be integrated into the new ways of working, respecting remote work, multi-location project teams, home & flex offices, communal work spaces. All this with the ambition to bring employees, contractors and freelancers closer together in an highly adaptive and effective way.

The new ways of work will require a different and more transparent way of collecting and sharing People Data, with HR Tools & Technology accessible to all stakeholders together with a new breed of HR Professionals, focusing on the optimisation of Talent in all phases of the Talent Life Cycle.

All kinds of HR Tools & Solutions will have to integrate, work together and share data, the stakeholders are all expecting an easy, but secure single point of access.
